T he Pacific Discovery Rowing recently achieved a world record for being the fastest mixed-gender crew to row across the Pacific Ocean. This team, which includes Cameron Parker, Stuart Thompson, Celo Celovschi, and Tia Patricios, completed their journey in 34 days, 8 hours, and 22 minutes, arriving at Hanalei Bay in Hawaii on July 16th, 2023. The mission of the Pacific Discovery Rowing team is to raise awareness and funds for mental health. They believe that mental health is the foundation of physical health and should be talked about, treated, and supported equally. Their goal is to raise £100,000 for Mind, a UK-based mental health charity, to ensure that everyone experiencing mental health challenges gets the support and respect they deserve. The team participated in the inaugural “World’s Toughest Row - Pacific” race, starting from Monterey, California, and rowing 2,800 miles to Kauai, Hawaii. They trained rigorously for two years, preparing themselves mentally and physically for this monumental feat..

PARTNERSHIP WITH STORMTECH Stormtech became a sponsor of the Pacific Discovery Rowing team following a recommended lead from fellow team member Tia whose company uses Stormtech to supply Stormtech Outerwear to all new joiners. Raising Awareness: Both organizations aim to raise awareness about mental health issues and the importance of mental & physical well-being and a commitment to making a positive impact on society.
