How big is the promotional products market in Australia? Promotional products represent a $2 billion industry in Australia and growing. We’ve seen the industry really mature in the last few years, with greater awareness of responsible production and sustainability in a traditionally throwaway industry which has brought some much-needed modernization for the 21st century. What trends are shaping the future of the industry? Three key trends that are shaping the future direction of promotional products and uniforms: 1. “Premiumization” – More than ever, we see end users demanding higher quality promotional products and corporate apparel. This has led to increased demand for recognizable brands that end users trust to deliver the positive experiences they seek. It’s been a great time for brands like Stormtech that have developed a trusted recognized brand over many years. 2. Sustainability and responsible production – Along with the demand for quality is a greater focus on products and brands that produce their goods in a socially responsible and sustainably-minded way. This is why we work with Stormtech who are clear about what they’re doing in this space and can back it up with trusted accreditation.
3. Ease of business – We’ve found that distributors are increasingly time poor and are looking to align with partners who can reduce their back-of-house time so that they can focus on their clients. This is why we have dedicated so much effort to making our products available as a turn-key solution, fully branded, and delivered on our distributor’s behalf to businesses around the country with minimal administration. How many distributors are there in your region? There are approximately 1,000 distributors across Australia regularly reselling Stormtech products to end users, and a growing number more who are coming on-board with the brand. What resonates most with your customers and why? In a country with mild-to-hot weather, Stormtech’s lightweight technical polo shirts with H2X-DRY® moisture-management technology have been incredibly strong – as the only polo shirt brand in the country with a 5-year warranty, it gives end users great confidence that they’re wearing a brand that can handle an Australian summer! We have also seen strong performance in Stormtech’s outerwear products that modernize classic styles – such as the Nautilus Puffer Vest and the Cruise Softshell Jacket. Styles like these really highlight the strengths Stormtech have in bringing the look, fit, and quality of a retail brand into a product and providing a service that meets wholesale corporate needs.
