Leave must be taken in a minimum of 1 week blocks (except for where a child is disabled then leave may be taken as single days or multiples of 1 day) and is limited to a maximum of 4 weeks in any year for each child. At least 21 days’ notice must be provided and leave may be postponed apart from leave taken immediately after the birth or adoption, depending on the needs of the Company. 15.Carer’s Leave You will be entitled to (unpaid) carer’s leave if you have a dependant with a long term care need. You will be entitled to up to 1 week’s leave in any 12-month period for the purpose of providing care or arranging care for the dependant. Leave can be taken as consecutive or non-consecutive full or half days. You must give notice of at least double the length of the period requested, capped at a maximum requirement of 3 days’ notice. The Company may postpone the leave if the operation of the business would be unduly disrupted. You would be given notice of any postponement in advance of the leave requested, along with an explanation for the postponement. You would then be permitted to take the leave within one month of the original start date, with the new date confirmed following consultation with your Line Manager. 16.Flexible Working Eligibility Any employee may make a request for flexible working. However, you may not make a request if you have made two previous flexible working requests in the preceding 12 months. Making a request You should make your request in good time, as the whole process may take up to two months. A request for flexible working should be made in writing to your line manager and should set out: • the date of the request; • the fact that it is a request for flexible working; • the change that is being requested (e.g. to working hours, times of work, place of work, etc.); • the date from which you wish the change to take effect; and • if and when you have made a previous request for flexible working. N.B. Any change agreed under this section would be a permanent change to your terms and conditions of employment and you would not have the right to
