TECHNOLOGY USE

1. PURPOSE Stormtech provides associates with access to technology essential to their jobs, including internet, network, software, and hardware systems. This is provided for business purposes; however personal use is permitted within the framework of this document and the Code of Ethics Policy. This policy is intended to ensure security and provide transparency on Stormtech and Associates’ responsibilities. 2. SCOPE This policy applies to all Stormtech Associates working in the State of Utah. 3. POLICY Network Usage Associates are not permitted to use the Stormtech network or equipment to: • Access obscene, offensive, or illegal content • Send offensive or inappropriate communications. • Send confidential information to unauthorized recipients. • Invade another person’s privacy or confidential information. • Illegally download or share copyrighted materials, like software, movies, and music • Visit potentially dangerous websites that can compromise the safety of our network. • Perform unauthorized or illegal actions like hacking and fraud. • Mine bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies or participate in distributed computing projects. Stormtech uses content filtering to prevent associates from accessing unsafe, illegal, or offensive web content. If you believe that a website has been blocked in error, please contact helpdesk@stormtech.ca. Stormtech does not block associates’ access to other websites of their choice. However, associates are expected to exercise good judgement and stay productive at work. Note that access is monitored and logged on company devices and the company network (see “Monitoring and Privacy” section). If you’re unsure what constitutes acceptable Internet usage, speak with your manager. Personal Devices and Cell Phones The Use of personal devices and cell phones are not permitted during work hours. Associates should restrict the use of their personal cell phone or any other personal devices to their break and meal periods. Only those individuals authorized by their manager or supervisor are permitted to use personal devices and cell phones for work related purposes only. Associates permitted to use personal devices and cell phones may do so, as long as the device is password or biometric protected (iris or fingerprint).
