PUBLIC AND STATUTORY HOLIDAYS
1. PURPOSE This policy outlines observance of and pay related matters for Public and Statutory Holidays in the state of California. 2. SCOPE This policy applies to all full-time, part-time, and contractual associates working in the State of California. 3. POLICY • Full-time regular associates are eligible for statutory holiday pay effective immediately upon employment. • Managers will make every effort to provide advance notice of any required work on a Statutory Holiday. • Stormtech may have a business need to select a replacement day to observe a statutory holiday where the business requirement is to remain open for business. • The holidays observed in California are: 2024 Stat Holiday Date Day New Year’s Day January 01 Monday Martin Luther King Jr. Day January 15 Monday President’s Day February 19 Monday Cesar Chavez Day April 01 Monday Memorial Day May 27 Monday Juneteenth June 19 Wednesday Independence Day July 04 Thursday Labor Day September 02 Monday Veterans Day November 11 Monday Thanksgiving November 28 Thursday Day After Thanksgiving November 29 Friday Christmas Day December 25 Wednesday
4. RESPONSIBILITIES
Managers are responsible for: • Validating and approving time keeping records (i.e.: timesheets) • Formally tracking lieu time for each associate in accordance with the appropriate state legislation. Payroll may require this information from time to time. Associates are responsible for: • Accurately completing time keeping records and tracking lieu time (i.e.: timesheets).
