29.Dress and Appearance In order to present a professional and welcoming image the Company requires you to dress in a manner appropriate to the occasion and the type of work you are carrying out. Where you have been provided with branded clothing you must wear it when appropriate. You must ensure that you keep your clothing and general appearance clean and tidy at all times. 30.Eye Tests and Glasses The Company funds eye tests for all employees who regularly use display screen equipment (DSE) as a significant part of their normal work. If you believe you are entitled to an eye test under this policy, you should ask your line manager to confirm that this is the case. If your line manager agrees you should then make your own arrangements for an eye test with an optician of your choice. You will need to pay for the eye test yourself, obtain a receipt and claim back the cost of the test in accordance with the Expenses Policy. If your optician believes that you need special spectacles for DSE use, you must ask the optician for written confirmation. The Company will contribute up to £50 towards the cost of obtaining spectacles if you need them for DSE use and cannot use standard spectacles (e.g. those provided for reading). You will need to pay for spectacles or contact lenses yourself and obtain a receipt. You may claim the £50 contribution in accordance with the Expenses Policy on presentation of the receipt and the written confirmation from the optician that you need spectacles for DSE use to your line manager. You are entitled to a free test every two years unless the optician advises more regular tests.
